Cake for a Pizza Lover

E-mail Print PDF

pizza cakeHere's a cute idea from FamilyFun.com for a cake for someone who loves pizza. It's a pizza baked in a disposable pizza pan and displayed in a pizza box. You can even cut the cake using a pizza wheel! To create this cake, you need:

  • 2 cups red frosting (your "tomato sauce")
  • 1 baked 12" or 14" round cake
  • Grated white chocolate or coconut (your "cheese")
  • 1/2 to 1 cup of chopped, fresh or dried fruit (blueberries, banana slices, stawberries, kiwi, orange, grapes, mango, apricot, apple)
  • Pizza Box (for display)
Bake a 12" to 14" round cake. Frost the cake with the red icing to within 1/2" of the edge. Sprinkle with the grated white chocolate or coconut to replicate the look of the cheese. Top with the fruit. Put inside a pizza box for display. Hint: Many pizza parlors will be happy to give you an extra pizza box (especially if you are ordering tons of pizza from them for your pizza-themed party)!

Cupcakes for the Feet!

E-mail Print PDF
Cupcakes are everywhere! And now, you can step out in style with these cupcake covered Converse sneakers. Too freakin' cute! Different stores appear to have different colors of these. The Converse site has them in white, Journeys has them in brown, and Amazon has them in a mint green color. Whichever color you prefer, they're the perfect accessory for the baker or cupcake lover!Cupcake Converse

Cupcake PendantOk, so maybe it's not ALL I want, but it's pretty darn cute! Someone forwarded this cute 10K Gold Diamond Cupcake Pendant w/18" Chain. It's sooooo adorable. It comes with a cute ceramic cupcake gift box. I've also seen versions of this necklace with cubic zirconias instead of diamonds and even in pink!

Back That Thang Up!

E-mail Print PDF
Fallen CupcakeToday's hot mess is me! I did an upgrade to the site and of course something went wrong. Then I tried to fix it and of course made it much worse! Thankfully, I had a backup that my hosting company was able to restore the site from, but I think I lost 1 comment on the Metalcakes article that came in after I did the backup - wah! But we are back. And I'll be backing up like crazy from now on! Thank you, Hostgator!

Fake Cakes for a Flawless Wedding

E-mail Print PDF

Pi2 Confections Fake CakePi2 Confections in New Hampshire specializes in fake cakes that look great throughout the entire wedding reception and cost less than traditional cakes. Made out of Styrofoam, the cakes don't lean like real cakes are prone to do after sitting out all day at room temperature.

Pi2 Confections provides a wedge of real cake on the bottom tier for the bride and groom to use for the traditional cutting of the cake. No one will ever know the rest of the cake is fake! They also provide a complimentary cake top for the married couple to enjoy on their one year anniversary. Couples can order sheet cake for their wedding guests to eat, which tastes fresher than a traditional cake that has been on display all day.
